About
Explaining the threads that tie us together, from Hollywood decks to the questions we would rather avoid.
This is where 15 years of pitch-crafting meets talk-show experimentation to explore stories.
What is The Strand?
At its core, The Strand is about pitch: the art of distilling an idea until it lands. A pitch deck can change the course of a film. An essay can untangle a cultural knot. A joke can carry more truth than a sermon.
The Strand is a cultural lab. It began as a late-night call-in experiment (Landline) and has grown into a place where stories, strategy, and the search for meaning intersect.
About Inga Seppala
I’ve spent fifteen years helping filmmakers, brands, and storytellers sharpen their decks until they can’t be ignored. I’ve built pitches for projects at Netflix, HBO, PBS, and indie festivals you’ve never heard of. Along the way, I’ve taught creators how to strip away the noise and find the story that actually sticks.
The Strand is the creative studio I run under my company, Inga Headland LLC. Most people in the industry have known me as Inga Headland. I now work under my married name, Inga Seppala.
Why The Strand?
Every culture runs on stories. Some are worth keeping. Some are overdue for revision. The Strand is where I take the same pitch tools I’ve used in Hollywood and turn them toward bigger questions: Why do we believe what we believe? Why do we tell the stories we tell? And what happens when those stories break down?
With humor, irreverence, and a bent for clarity, The Strand is where I keep testing the pitch not just for films, but for culture itself.
